Baltimore Gas and Electric Company Completes Repairs to Underground Electric Cable Supplying Customers in the Reisterstown and Owings Mills Areas of Baltimore County

Traffic patterns along affected stretch of MD Route 140 (Reisterstown Road) expected to return to normal on Saturday

BALTIMORE, Dec. 16, 2011 – Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) today announced that it has completed repairs to an underground electric cable, serving customers in the Reisterstown and Owings Mills areas of Baltimore County. Company crews worked diligently to complete the repairs as safely and quickly as possible to minimize disruption to customers in the area.

“BGE worked virtually around-the-clock to limit the duration of this project and worked closely with the State Highway Administration to ensure a safe, well-coordinated effort,” said Jeannette M. Mills, senior vice president and chief customer officer for BGE. “We recognize that our work may have been inconvenient for motorists, particularly those who travel the affected road on a regular basis, as well as businesses in the area. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we complete this important work that reinforces our electric distribution system and enhances service reliability for customers in this area.”

The work required lane closures and changes to normal traffic patterns along Reisterstown Road from Rosewood Lane to the Reisterstown Road access to Owings Mills Boulevard. BGE is in the process of clearing its equipment from the work zone and expects the State Highway Administration to restore normal traffic patterns early on Saturday.
