CARDIN TO HOLD “TRANSPORTATION” ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION WITH FREDERICK OFFICIALS, COMMUNITY LEADERS



Improving Transportation Infrastructure Will Create Jobs and Alleviate Congestion

On Tuesday, February 21, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) will hold a roundtable discussion with Frederick officials and members of the Frederick Area Committee for Transportation (FACT) to discuss transportation needs that are important to Frederick County residents. The U.S. Senate is currently considering the reauthorization of the nation’s surface transportation funding and Frederick County has important transportation priorities. The Congress also just completed reauthorization of the Federal Aviation Administration authorization.

Following the Roundtable discussion, the Senator will tour the new Frederick Municipal Airport Air Traffic Control tower, which was funded with $5.3 million in Recovery Act grants that the Senator helped secure.

· WHEN: Tuesday, February 21 at 9 am. (A tour of the Frederick Municipal Airport’s new Air Traffic Control tower will follow from 10 am. to 10:30 am.)
