Comptroller Franchot, Delegate Olszewski to Tout Savings Benefits of Splitting Tax Refunds

WHAT: In the midst of this year’s tax season, Comptroller Franchot will join Delegate Olszewski to promote the new refund splitting capability which was made possible as a result of legislation sponsored by Delegate Olszewski. Taxpayers can now directly deposit portions of their refunds into at least two different bank accounts at one or more financial institutions by using Form 588. This benefit can help families more easily manage their refunds and could encourage saving.
