“Let’s do it again…” The forecast called for rain but the day was perfect for Three No Trumps Bridge Club’s annual picnic at Patapsco Park on a lazy Sunday afternoon. People drank champagne, enjoyed good food and danced the latest line dances. Guests Victor Hamilton, Pat Thomas, Claudia McKee, Yvonne West, Robert Smith, Pat Roselle, Waneta Wilkins, Jackie Brock, Dr. Charlene Cooper-Boston, Tyrone Qualls, Sadie and Eugene Smalley, Mildred Harper, Flora and Richard Johnson, Tobi and Damien Pulley, Laura Byrd, Cimmon Burris, Brenda and Napoleon Sykes, Duchess Atkinson, Dr. J Laws Nickens, Jean Powell, Peggy Washington, Carolyn and Steve Wainwright and more than 100 other guests kept the party flowing until dusk.

Throughout the cocktail hour, a jazz ensemble provided music as we enjoyed the catered buffet by Charm City Caterers. The guest of honor, looking stunning, was toasted with her own signature drink Shargarita. “Around midnight” after dancing to the hottest sounds the exhausted guests received personalized crystal stemware as a keepsake memento as they headed home.

Brenda Baker, Jackie Brown, Laverne Naesea, Deborah Hawkins and I joined States Attorney Gregg Bernstein at Alice located in the Colonnade for dinner and conversation. It was a great opportunity to talk and share the visions of a city that we all love. It is the sign of a great dining experience when everyone marveled at the deliciousness of their selection. I opted for meatloaf that was excellent. The veal chops, crab cakes and a fish dish all met with satisfaction, too.
