Former U.S. Rep. Ron Dellums and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan recently visited McKinley Technology High School in the District to recognize the institution for winning the National Blue Ribbon Award, an honor that highlights the nation's top-performing elementary, middle and high schools. Their visit was also a part of the HistoryMakers' annual "Back to School with the HistoryMakers" event. The organization is a national nonprofit that aims to showcase African-American history and culture.
