An Illinois woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her ex-boyfriend’s pit bull by placing it in a hot oven.

Kinny Redmon, 24, of South Country Fair Drive, Champaign in Illinois was charged June 4 with animal torture and aggravated cruelty to animals and given a $250,000 bond for allegedly putting her ex-boyfriend’s baby pit bull in a 300-degree oven, according to the Champaign-Urbana, Ill. News-Gazette.

Assistant State’s Attorney, Scott Larson requested a $1 million bond for Redmon due to the “extreme cruelty and depravity” of the crime she committed, according to the newspaper. Redmon was staying at her ex-boyfriend’s house at the time of the incident.

According to the Associated Press, Redmon allegedly called her ex-boyfriend following an argument between the two and told him, “Go get yo’ puppy out the oven, (expletive),” before hanging up.

When the man went home he found a chair up against the oven with his dead puppy inside.

Police located and arrested her on an outstanding warrant in a misdemeanor case, according to The News-Gazette.  Redmon was uncooperative following her arrest.
