Franchot to Hold Town Hall Meeting to Support Air Conditioning in All Baltimore County Public Schools

Concerned Citizens Will Have Opportunity to Speak Directly to Annapolis Decision Makers

WHAT:           Comptroller Peter Franchot will be joined by senior officials from Governor Hogan’s Administration at the Cool Classrooms Town Hall meeting in Arbutus Tuesday, October 6th at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will give concerned citizens the opportunity to speak directly to Annapolis decision makers about the lack of air conditioning in dozens of Baltimore County Public Schools, and how the situation is threatening the health and safety of students, teachers and staff.

Governor Hogan chairs the Board of Public Works and Comptroller Franchot is a member of the three-person Board which gives final approval to the State’s public school construction budget. Comptroller Franchot and Governor Hogan expressed concern at the last Board meeting about the unsafe and unhealthy conditions in Baltimore County Public Schools and called for a timely solution.
